Spotlight: The Impact of COVID on Essential Global Health Services

You’re invited! The UI College of Public Health is pleased to host a Featured Global Spotlight with Dr. Gagan Gupta, UNICEF Health Specialist. This virtual event will speak to the impact of COVID on essential health services and will share findings from across regions how COVID has impacted use of essential health services and how health systems need to be supported.

Dr. Gagan Gupta is a Maternal and Newborn Health Specialist MNH at UNICEF New York Headquarters. Dr. Gupta is a Neontologist and Pediatrician, started his career teaching pediatrics and neonatology in University hospital in Mumbai in India in 2001. He brings nearly 20 years of experience of working in public health including working in government, academia, professional bodies and UN. He led UNICEF health program in the state of Madhya Pradesh in Central India for six years and subsequently led the entire newborn child health pillar of UNICEF work in India since 2013 till mid-2019. Dr. Gupta has strong field experience at country and state level both in program development, policy influencings, as well as in program implementation.
