We Are Phil campaign starts Sept. 28

Published on September 22, 2015

we are phil logoThe third annual We Are Phil Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign will be off and running next Monday, Sept. 28.  We Are Phil is all about participation, not fundraising.  The College of Public Health is ranked sixth in faculty and staff giving participation among UI Colleges.

You will see an informational table in the CPHB Atrium every day over the lunch time next week and once during the week at IREH and UCC.  There will be snacks and giveaways, but mostly an opportunity to ask questions and fill out contribution envelopes, if you want.  As before, locked deposit boxes will be at CPHB, IREH and UCC.  But, new this year, is the opportunity to contribute cash.  For example, if you have a couple of dollars in your wallet and you feel like contributing that to a CPH or UI cause, you can put it in an envelope with your name and where you want the money directed,  then deposit it in the locked box.  That counts as participation.

Something else that is new this year – and uniquely CPH – is the “I participate in We Are Phil because…” board.  You will find it near the informational table in CPHB Atrium each day.  As researchers, we truly are interested in whether and why participation in this giving program is of interest to you.  There will be index cards at the informational tables.  You can anonymously write a statement and post it on the board or deposit it in the locked box so we can post it for you later.  Faculty and staff at Oakdale or near UCC can deposit the cards in the IREH and UCC locked boxes.

Please take advantage of the chance to stop by the We Are Phil tables this coming week.  Grab a snack and say “hi” to your CPH colleagues.  We are proud to be CPH.
