Kaskie comments on increasing cannabis use by older adults

More than one in five people age 50 or older have used cannabis at least once in the past year, a new survey reveals. Brian Kaskie, professor of health management and policy, who studies older people’s cannabis use, says that amid cannabis legalization, “compounded with the aches and pains that come with age, [older Americans] may be responsive to that and using it more.” (Yahoo Life) Published September 13, 2024

The University of Iowa Study Abroad Fair is being held on Sept. 17 in the IMU International Ballroom (2nd floor). Iowa Writers’ Workshop alum and acclaimed nonfiction author Tracy Kidder (74MFA) will take part in a free, public event at the Iowa Memorial Union’s Main Lounge on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. He will reflect on his lengthy literary career and read from some of his bestselling work. Published September 12, 2024
