Midwest Rural Agricultural Safety & Health Forum

Event Date: 11/18/2009 - 11/19/2009
Location: Stoney Creek Inn - Johnston, IA  

The purpose of the 2009 Midwest Rural Agricultural Safety and Health Forum is to provide updated information on agricultural and rural safety and health and to strengthen collaborative efforts among researchers, practitioners, agricultural producers and medical professionals.

The conference includes plenary sessions on community-based participatory research, research to practice, social marketing, and rural roadway safety. The conference will connect researchers with practitioners to form a cooperative network to disseminate knowledge, implement interventions, and create social and behavioral change. Topics include: social marketing, trends in safety for mega farms, injury prevention; rural health; pesticide exposure; Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, H1N1, AgrAbility, ATV safety, noise exposure, confined animal feeding operations, using narrative to change behavior.

Central States Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association (CSOEMA) Occupational Medicine: Where Medicine Meets the Workplace

This pre-seminar program will provide current information on selected occupational medicine topics and provide important resources and networking opportunities necessary for keeping current in occupational medicine. This program is intended for emergency and primary care physicians and nurses encountering patients with occupational injuries or illnesses as well as occupational medicine physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and occupational health nurses.

Central States Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association (CSOEMA) 86th Annual Spring Seminar

This seminar will provide current information on occupational medicine. The seminar will also provide important resources and networking opportunities necessary for keeping current in occupational medicine.
