NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Refresher Course

THIS COURSE IS POSTPONED - NEW DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATERThis one-day course is designed as an update for those who have successfully completed the initial NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Training Course within the past five years and can provide a copy of that training certificate to the course director. In this interactive workshop, an emphasis will be placed on practical aspects of spirometric testing and making sense of spirometric results. Students are encouraged to supply information on the spirometers they currently or plan to use and samples of spirograms from their work setting. Technicians whose NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Course certificates are dated January 1, 2001, through December 31, 2007, are eligible to complete a NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Refresher Course by December 31, 2012, to maintain a valid NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Course certificate.

Session I: Agricultural Medicine: Occupational and Environmental Health for Rural Health Professionals

This course will provide basic information and skills to enable the health care professional to function in the anticipation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational illnesses and injuries in the farm community.

NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Training Course

This 2 day workshop covers the most current standards and recent developments in pulmonary function testing. If you are an occupational health nurse, physician, industrial hygienist, technician, medical assistant, or employee health practitioner responsible for performing accurate pulmonary function testing, you will greatly appreciate this course. All participants will have ample opportunity to practice pulmonary function testing utilizing a variety of spirometry equipment with one-on-one instruction from the faculty.
