Drew Kitchen, UI assistant professor of anthropology, will present a seminar on recent work that investigates the connection between pathogen/parasite evolution and the history of their human host populations. The event takes place Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. at the University of Iowa Museum of Natural History, Biosphere Discovery Hub.

Jeffrey Murray, UI professor in the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics and a professor of epidemiology, nursing, dentistry, and biological sciences, has been named a 2014 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science "for distinguished contributions to the fields of genetics and medical genetics, particularly discoveries in cleft lip and palate and early term birth." Murray is a frequent collaborator with College of Public Health researchers.
