College of Public Health Review

Collegiate Review, 2019

University of Iowa policy requires that all colleges undergo regular reviews at least every seven years (Operations Manual, Part II 28.2).  To comply with this policy, the Office of the Provost charged a committee to review the College of Public Health in Spring 2019.  The committee was asked to conduct a focused review on suggestions for enhanced interdisciplinary research collaborations with UI colleagues.  An additional emphasis was on opportunities to capitalize on the college’s collective areas of excellence (Rural Health, Comparative Effectiveness Research and Community Engagement) in its research, teaching and service missions.  A draft of the review was shared with you in August 2019 and I want to thank all of you who provided comments and suggestions.  The final review document is now complete and has been submitted to the College of Public Health administration and the Office of the President.

The review commends the College on its many successful efforts in support of the UI Strategic Plan and the University’s overall mission.  I want to express my sincere appreciation to all of the faculty and staff in the College who contribute to those efforts.  Your work not only makes the University of Iowa a better place, it improves the lives of Iowans and others around the world. Keep up the good work!
