Why do I need to have a HealthCareID and a HawkID?

Your HealthCareID is used for authentication with the HEALTHCARE domain and is required for those with dual appointments in UI Healthcare. This account allows you to access HealthCare resources and is subject to policies managed by HCIS. Similarly, your HawkID is used for authentication with the IOWA domain and is subject to policies managed by ITS and collegiate IT departments such as CPH IT.

Can I use my HealthCareID to log in to computers at the College of Public Health?

Yes, HealthCareID's can be used to log in to computers at the College of Public Health by typing "healthcare\" in front of your HealthCareID (e.g. healthcare\herky) at the login screen. Please note that some resources may only be available when you log in with your HawkID. If you need to use your HealthCareID to access College of Public Health resources or you are unsure of which account to use please contact the CPH IT Office at (319) 384-3838 or cph-support@uiowa.edu.
