• the UIHC campus, and
• the Towncrest Clinic on the east side of Iowa City.

Inside the Hospital

We are located on the second (2nd) floor of the General Hospital in the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

From the hospital’s main entrance, proceed down the hall to the left until you reach “Elevator B.”

Take “Elevator B” to the 2nd floor. Upon exiting the elevator, you will see a compass painted into the floor to your right. Follow the compass in the “East” (E) direction. The Preventive Intervention Center is located straight ahead at the end of the hall.

Getting to the Hospital

Driving from the North:

• Take Interstate 380 South
• At mile marker 0, Interstate 380 South becomes Highway 218 South
• Take Highway 218 South for 3 miles to exit 93 (Melrose Avenue)
• Turn left onto Melrose Avenue
• Take Melrose Avenue for 2.4 miles to 5th stoplight at Hawkins Drive
• Turn left onto Hawkins Drive, and the Hospital is immediately on the right
• Follow signs to valet parking or appropriate parking ramp

Driving from the East:

• Take Interstate 80 West to exit 242 (1st Avenue Coralville)
• At stoplight, turn left onto 1st Avenue
• Take 1st Avenue for 1.3 miles to 4th stoplight at 2nd Street (Coralville Strip)
• Turn left onto 2nd Street
• Take 2nd Street for 0.4 miles to 1st stoplight at Hawkins Drive
• Turn right onto Hawkins Drive
• Take Hawkins Drive for 0.6 miles, and the Hospital will be on the left
• Follow signs to valet parking or appropriate parking ramp

Driving from the South:

• Take Highway 218 North to exit 93 (Melrose Avenue)
• Turn right onto Melrose Avenue
• Take Melrose Avenue for 2.4 miles to 5th stoplight at Hawkins Drive
• Turn left onto Hawkins Drive, and the Hospital is immediately on the right
• Follow signs to valet parking or appropriate parking ramp

Driving from the West:

• Take Interstate 80 East to exit 239A (Highway 218)
• Take Highway 218 South for 3 miles to exit 93 (Melrose Avenue)
• Turn left onto Melrose Avenue
• Take Melrose Avenue for 2.4 miles to 5th stoplight at Hawkins Drive
• Turn left onto Hawkins Drive, and the Hospital is immediately on the right
• Follow signs to valet parking or appropriate parking ramp

Towncrest Clinic

From the East or West

• Take I-80 East or West to Exit 246
• Turn south on Hwy 1 towards Iowa City (left from I-80 East or right from I-80 West)
• At the second stop light, turn left on Scott Blvd.
• Turn right on First Ave.
• At the third stop light, turn left on Muscatine Ave.
• Go one block, then turn Right onto Wade Street (a CVS Pharmacy will be on the corner.)
• Go 500 feet and turn left on Towncrest Drive.  Look for white sign that says Towncrest Center. 
• The MOST clinic will be immediately to your right (2403 Towncrest Drive), by the covered doorway.  This is the former “Steindler Orthopedic Clinic.”
• Park and enter through the front sliding glass door.

From the North or South

• Take I-380/Rt 27 to Iowa Hwy-1 Exit to Iowa City/Kalona
• Drive towards Iowa City on Iowa Hwy 1 North for 1.92 miles
• Iowa Hwy 1 North becomes US Hwy-6, continue on US Hwy-6 for 1.77 miles
• At the First Avenue stop light turn left onto S. First Ave.
• Continue on First Ave. for .7 miles
• Go one block, then turn Right onto Wade Street (a CVS Pharmacy will be on the corner.)
• Go 500 feet and turn left on Towncrest Drive.  Look for white sign that says Towncrest Center.
