Undergraduate Scholarships

We have the following competitive scholarship opportunities available for incoming Fall 2024 public health majors admitted directly from high school.

The deadline to apply for these opportunities is February 1, 2024.

College of Public Health Dean’s Scholars

This scholarship will support one or more new, first-year students who are directly admitted to the public health major. The award is based on merit (standardized test scores and GPA) and responses to short essays.

The College of Public Health provides first-year scholarship support to this select group of students who are critical thinkers with a commitment to address the grand challenges in public health. Through the Iowa Institute for Public Health Research and Policy, Dean’s Scholars are invited to participate in professional and social activities that enhance their public health experience, including opportunities to attend conferences and seminars and to meet with nationally known public health experts.

Award: One-time award from $500-$2500, depending on merit. Amount may increase based on demonstrated financial need through a completed FAFSA. Award amount will be adjusted so as not to exceed the cost of attendance when all scholarships are combined. This award is not renewable.
