A new feature-length independent film “The Summerland Project,” which began life as a play, is being filmed in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding area using a mix of Hollywood and local talent. CPH biostatistics alumna and veteran stage actress Angela (Meisterling) Billman (MS ’10) has been cast as a character she played in the stage version of the story.

Billman says she’s excited and nervous for her first screen role. “I’m beside myself and equally humbled by the opportunity I’m presented with,” she said. “I feel very lucky.”
