CPH data on breast cancer in Iowa cited

On Oct. 4, thousands of people gathered at the Iowa State Capitol to run or walk to raise money for breast cancer research and support.

About 2,350 women in Iowa have been or will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and 400 will die from the disease, according to estimates from the University of Iowa College of Public Health.

The American Cancer Society estimated that about 232,000 cases of breast cancer would be diagnosed nationwide in 2014.
