UI’s Triangle Club features presentations on a variety of topics

Interested in hearing from a diverse set of speakers on a wide range of topics? Check out the Triangle Club, the faculty club of The University of Iowa that has been in existence since 1899 in various forms and at various locations. The club, which is open to faculty, administration, and the community, currently meets monthly seven times a year at the University Club (the former University Athletic Club) for a Sunday brunch followed by a speaker.

The next presentation will be given by Tom Schulein, associate professor emeritus of operative dentistry, on The History of Passenger Rail Service in Iowa City” on Sunday, Nov. 16. A social begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by brunch at noon and the program at 12:45 p.m.

Future programs include Trudy Burns, professor of epidemiology, on Jan. 18; Lan Samantha Chang, director of the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, on Feb. 15; and Gerald Schoor, professor of civil and environmental engineering, on April 19.
