This half-day workshop is designed to help graduate students and post-docs transition to a teaching role, and to help current TAs become more confident and improve their teaching skills. We will demonstrate and practice how to ask effective questions to increase student engagement, how to facilitate group work and group activities, how to lead effective discussions, and how to improve lecturing and presentation skills. Participants will also learn about campus resources that are available to help instructors and their students. A light breakfast and coffee will be provided.
