Have you taken your Personal Health Assessment yet?
Published on July 16, 2018
Faculty and staff — please use 10 minutes of your time to take your Personal Health Assessment (PHA) for which you will receive an annual incentive of up to $45 if you have not yet done so in 2018.
This investment is part of the University’s commitment to well-being, which helps us all in a number of ways. One is that good health is a long-term strategy for health care cost management. Another is that good health is correlated to many positive outcomes such as satisfaction with work, positive relationships, less illness, and more.
After you take your PHA, you become eligible for your discount to campus recreation facilities as well as a free, personal Health Coach. Available from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., a Health Coach will work with you to develop a tailored health improvement plan. A part of your work with a Health Coach may involve a referral to any number of campus resources that include the following:
- Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program
- Personal Training Service through Recreational Services
- Reimbursement of up to $500 for Nicotine Replacement Therapy or prescription medication to assist with smoking/tobacco cessation
The PHA is confidential and can be accessed at your Self-Service website (https://hris.uiowa.edu). It is available to UI Faculty/Staff in 50% or greater, regular positions eligible for UI Benefits and liveWELL Programming.
