Meagan Schorr, MPH ’13, is working to get Iowa City bars signed up for a program called Raise the Bar, which provides bystander intervention training for bar staff to help prevent sexual assaults.

Staff from participating bars go through two hours of training on how to identify situations that could lead to sexual assaults as well as how to come up with solutions to intervene.

Meagan Schorr works as a violence-prevention program coordinator with the University of Iowa’s Women’s Resource and Action Center.
