The University of Iowa campus community is cordially invited to attend a Celebration of Life honoring Dr. Peter E. Nathan, former Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculties, Provost, and Acting President of the University of Iowa. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 24 at 11:00 AM at the Levitt Center for University Advancement.

Dr. Nathan was a pioneering researcher whose studies demonstrated the power of psychological interventions to treat alcoholism and other substance abuse. He died on May 8 at the age of 81. At the time of his death, Dr. Nathan was the University of Iowa Foundation Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Public Health Emeritus.

The Celebration of Life will include reflections from family members, colleagues and collaborators, and former students, as well as musical selections by the Preucil School of Music Faculty Quartet. A reception will follow.
