On Oct. 17, the University of Iowa community celebrated the public launch of the Together Hawkeyes campaign, the largest fundraising and alumni engagement effort in the history of the state of Iowa. In the College of Public Health, and across campus, this campaign will generate needed support for students, faculty, staff, research, and innovative programs while improving facilities and bolstering service to Iowans.

Throughout the campaign, the College of Public Health will actively engage and grow its base of supporters and raise funds through outright gifts, planned gifts, and gifts-in-kind, according to CPH Dean Edith Parker.

“We want our alumni and friends to connect with and support our CPH community in whatever way is most meaningful, whether that be volunteering, attending events, offering internships, or making a gift.”

The College of Public Health’s fundraising priorities for the Together Hawkeyes campaign align closely with the strategic plans of the college as well as the university. Efforts will focus on securing gifts to support student success and experiential learning, enhance research excellence and discovery, and bolster diversity in all its forms.

The campaign also includes goals around engagement, making Iowa one of the first in the Big Ten to publicly announce and track engagement goals as part of a comprehensive campaign.

“Philanthropic support is critical to our success as we work to prepare future generations of public health leaders and advance the science and practice of public health,” says Parker. “All gifts, no matter the amount, are deeply appreciated and will make a tremendous difference in this campaign.”
