CPH collaborating with Newton Community Health Partnership

A healthier Newton: Rockefeller-funded, Vilsack-supported partnership to inspire widespread change
The Newton Community Health Partnership is a collaboration of local stakeholders working with teams from the University of Iowa and Grinnell College to promote physical activity and healthy eating habits. Linda Snetselaar, UI associate provost of outreach and engagement and CPH professor of epidemiology, is one of the project investigators. She said Newton has been “so responsive” to the changes and in developing projects for its community. (Newton Daily News)

UI student improving the health of his hometown
Students and faculty involved with the Newton Community Health Partnership come from the UI School of Urban and Regional Planning, UI College of Public Health, and departments of psychology and sociology at Grinnell College. They are working to develop evidence-based projects and programs for the city of Newton that are focused on food and nutrition, exercise and physical activity, and the built environment. (Iowa Now)
