CPH hosting Lunch & Learn with Dr. Fernando Ortega

In association with International Programs, the College of Public Health welcomes Dr. Fernando Ortega, dean of the School of Public Health, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador. If you would like to meet Dr. Ortega, the college will be hosting a Lunch & Learn from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, in room S162 CPHB. Lunch will be provided. Research Interests
Research proposals design and implementation, health surveys and interviews, quantitative and qualitative research methodology. Impact and process projects evaluation and monitoring in areas such: anthropology, demography, epidemiology, public health, nutrition, parasitology, lead and mercury human contamination, and studies in traditional, alternative, and conventional medicines. Most research projects applied in Ecuador and the Andean Region since 1980 to the present (Amazon, Andean, Pacific Coastal, and Galapagos regions).
Management Roles
President of the Shoulder to Shoulder Foundation, Ecuador. The foundation’s main purpose is to improve the life quality of impoverished and vulnerable urban and rural communities of Ecuador. To involve community members, students, professionals, and college professors in education, research, and services addressed to integrated development activities. Founder and director of Integrated Community Development Department in the College of Health Sciences.
