Bill Field, CPH professor of occupational and environmental health, has been reappointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Science Advisory Board effective immediately through Sept. 30, 2018.

Field brings expertise in radiation epidemiology and risk assessment to the board, whose members provide independent expert advice on technical issues underlying EPA policies and decision-making.

“Board members’ scientific and technical expertise, experience, and innovation play critical roles in the success of the EPA’s approach to effective environmental protection,” EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy wrote in a letter to Field. “I rely on the board for the expert guidance that is essential to the EPA’s ability to protect public health and the environment.”
