Funding opportunity: Environmental Health Sciences Research Center Pilot Grant Program

Purpose: The Environmental Health Sciences Research Center (EHSRC) is requesting applications for the Spring 2026 Pilot Grant Program (PGP), which funds innovative, environmental health-related research proposals on topics including but not limited to:
- Exposomics
- Precision environmental health
- Mechanistic biology and toxicology
- Data science and computational biology
- Divergent environmental health outcomes among different groups
- Human health impacts of extreme weather
- Cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases due to inhaled environmental exposures
Eligibility: Researchers who are eligible to apply for K or R01 grants from NIH may apply. This specifically includes Post-doctoral Fellows, Post-doctoral Scholars, Faculty (all ranks), Research Scientists, Research Engineers, Associate Research Scientists, and Associate Research Engineers. Other staff and students may not be investigators, but may be designated to receive salary support and should be listed in the budget.
Awards: Up to $40,000 per project, with community engagement supplements up to $5,000 available in additional funds.

- January 15, 2026: Preliminary communications as outlined in RFA
- February 2, 2026: Final Submission
