Funding opportunity: Environmental Health Sciences Research Center Pilot Grant Program

Purpose: The Environmental Health Sciences Research Center (EHSRC) is requesting applications for the Spring 2025 Pilot Grant Program (PGP), which funds innovative, environmental health-related research proposals on topics including:

  • Exposomics
  • Precision environmental health
  • Mechanistic biology and toxicology
  • Data science and computational biology
  • Environmental health disparities, environmental justice, and health equity
  • Climate change impacts on human health
  • Nanoplastics and microplastics

Eligibility: Researchers from University of Iowa who are eligible to apply for K or R01 grants from NIH may apply. This specifically includes Post-doctoral Fellows, Post-doctoral Scholars, Faculty (all ranks), Research Scientists, Research Engineers, Associate Research Scientists, and Associate Research Engineers. Other staff and students may not be investigators, but may be designated to receive salary support and should be listed in the budget.

Awards: Up to $40,000 per project, with community engagement supplements up to $5,000 available in additional funds.

Deadlines:

  • January 15, 2025:  Preliminary communications as outlined in RFA
  • February 1, 2025:  Final Submission
