On Feb. 13 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., the UI Student Association for Rural Health (SARH) will host four Iowa Rural Health Association (IRHA) members for a virtual panel discussion about current rural health topics such as opportunities and challenges they are seeing within rural health.
There will be time to ask our panelists questions as well, so come for a great discussion with some amazing individuals!
These are our panelists:
- Audrey Lam—a 2017 MPH in occupational and environmental health alumna who is the president of IRHA for 2023 and works as an Environmental Health Program Manager at the Center for Energy & Environmental Education at UNI
- Gloria Vermie—a retired nurse and president-elect of IRHA who has a wealth of rural health experience, including as the director of the State Office of Rural Health in both Iowa and Kansas
- Teresa Bomhoff—a board member with Mindspring Mental Health Alliance and IRHA who is a retired federal employee from USDA Rural Development
- Mike Trachta—IRHA board member and System VP at MercyOne/Acting President and CEO Mercy Iowa City, and an alumnus of Iowa’s MHA program
