Life in Iowa fall programs for international students

Life in Iowa is a program designed to assist international students in adjusting to life and the academic system at the University of Iowa. It includes cultural events and academic sessions, as well as career series. Upcoming events for fall 2024 are listed below.
- Saturday, August 17, 2024, 1 – 3 p.m.: Museum Scavenger Hunt @ Old Capitol Museum
- Thursday, starting August 29, 2 – 3 p.m.: Weekly Coffee Hour @ T.Spoons (different theme each week)
- Monday, September 9, 2:30 – 4 p.m.: Closet to Career: Dress for Impact @ 339 IMU (starting with a presentation from Pomerantz Career Center)
- Wednesday, September 18, 5 – 6:30 p.m.: OPT Workshop on Zoom
- Thursday, September 26, 4 – 5 p.m.: Payroll and Taxes on Zoom
- Wednesday, October 16, 3:30 – 5 p.m.: Work Visa Options After Graduation @ 1117 UCC
- Saturday, October 19, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Healthy Cooking (details TBA)
- Wednesday, November 13, 4 – 5:30 p.m.: CPT & Resume/Cover Letter Workshop @ 1117 UCC
- Monday, November 25, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Fall Break Meal @ 1117 UCC
