MHA students place among top teams at case competition

Published on April 13, 2022

A team of first-year MHA students from the College of Public Health recently participated in a case competition at the Ohio State University. The team, consisting of Maddie Huinker, Briani Baboolal, and Mitch McHugh, placed among the top six, and Huinker was recognized as one of the competition’s Best Presenters.

The event is organized and hosted by the Association of Future Healthcare Executives, an OSU student group. Twenty-four teams of first-year MHA students from CAHME-accredited programs across the United States presented strategic solutions to a real-world case in the form of a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation followed by a question and answer period.

This year’s case topic asked participants to create interventions to address overcrowding in the emergency department of a large health system in the northeast.
