Help make milkweed seed balls for monarch butterflies June 20-22

Monarch Butterfly Flying on Isolated WhiteGet ready to grab your friends and make some milkweed seed balls at the College of Public Health!

June 20, 21, and 22 at noon to 1:00 PM, outside CPHB on the east patio.
(These are the correct dates, which were previously listed incorrectly in some materials.)

The goal of this 3-day event is to make 2,000 milkweed seed balls, which will be distributed to cyclists along this year’s RAGBRAI route. As the riders cross Iowa, they’ll toss the seed balls into roadside ditches, helping to restore habitat and this essential food source for monarch butterflies.

Dress for success … in this case, that means t-shirts, shorts, etc. Seed balls are made from all-natural Iowa dirt, compost, and milkweed seeds. It’s entirely possible that some ‘nature’ will end up on you!
