Published on January 3, 2023

The University of Iowa Prevention Research Center for Rural Health’s (PRC-RH) 2023-2024 pilot research program’s request for proposals is now available on the PRC-RH website. The primary objectives of the pilot research program are to encourage the development of new research projects that advance one or more of the main thematic foci of the PRC-RH:

  • Addressing health disparities through health promotion and disease prevention strategies
  • Advancing understanding of the relationships between social and structural determinants and health outcomes in rural and/or micropolitan areas
  • Developing and testing interventions for, or adaptation of, evidence-based interventions (EBIs) to rural and/or micropolitan populations

We are particularly interested in pilot research projects focusing on Iowa communities and that partner with community organizations or community members in the development, implementation, and/or evaluation of the project. The project is open to UI faculty, staff, and postdoctoral fellows. There will be one award this year with a maximum budget of $20,000 (direct) which must be completed within a year (June 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024). Applications will be accepted through February 28, 2023.
