Rural Iowa Research Award: call for proposals

Rural Iowa Research Award
Funded by: The Hunsicker Family Fund
Goal: This award is intended to support graduate students or faculty conducting research projects that respond to health interests of rural Iowans. Projects with a nutrition focus will be given special consideration, but all research areas are encouraged to apply. Funding preference will be given to those using data/samples specific to Iowa.
Examples of potential use of funds include but are not limited to:
• The project funds can be used for local travel for research activities, e.g. data collection efforts in the state.
• Funds may be used for GRA support (including COGS tuition)
• Funds may be used for research supplies and other support dedicated to the research project.
Who is eligible: CPH graduate students, and primary faculty
Award amount: up to $5,000
Period of award: Spring 2026, for a period of 1 year from the award date. Competitive renewals will be considered on an annual basis.
