Alcohol Policy in Iowa: A Follow-up Summit for Action

October 14, 2019
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Animal Rescue League, 5452 N.E. 22nd St, Des Moines, IA 50313

  • What have we learned about preventing underage drinking?
  • How can we make a difference in Iowa alcohol use prevention policies?
  • What are the next steps?

Join us for a community summit to review work that has been done, learn advocacy skills, and determine priorities in alcohol policies to present to the Iowa legislature. Anyone with an interest in the topic is welcome to attend.

The agenda includes presentation of a white paper based on the 2018 summit by Paul Gilbert, PhD of the University of Iowa. Attendees will learn and practice how to communicate effectively with policymakers as the group sets priorities for the upcoming Iowa legislative session that they will advocate.
