Two CPHB classrooms receive technology upgrades

Two classrooms in the College of Public Health Building recently received technology upgrades to enhance teaching and learning. Details of the upgrades are provided below. If you have any questions about the equipment, stop by the IT Office (N140 CPHB) or contact cph-it-support@uiowa.edu.

S106A & S106B CPHB have recently been upgraded with:

  • AV technology that includes a Dell Windows OptiPlex 7070 workstation with a single 24″ monitor connected to a Sony HD Laser Installation Projector for classroom display.
  • Lecture capture and web conferencing capabilities are handled by a PTZ Optics web conferencing camera (with presets or manual control via AV control panel), and integrated Shure XLR boundary and Audio-Technica wireless lavaliere microphones for computer ingest and room voice lift, with a ceiling speaker array for room audio output.
  • Additional classroom inputs include a WolfVision vSolutions Cam document camera, a Blu-Ray Media Player, a Mersive Solstice wireless content sharing and collaboration platform, as well as an available HDMI-cable to display/project HDMI-capable personal devices. This technology is controlled by an AV system with a 4K-capable matrix switcher and touch sensitive control panel.

C303 CPHB has recently been upgraded with:

  • AV technology that includes a Dell Windows OptiPlex 7070 workstation connected to a 75″ LG 4k-capable monitor for classroom display and room audio output.
  • Lecture capture and web conferencing capabilities are handled by a Huddly Go web conferencing camera and integrated Biamp Devio SCR USB ceiling microphone for computer ingest. This technology is controlled by an AV system with a matrix switcher and push-button control panel that includes a Mersive Solstice wireless content sharing and collaboration platform as an additional classroom input.
