UI planning for new public health institute, grad program
Published on October 23, 2014
The University of Iowa plans to establish a new institute dedicated to public health policy that College of Public Health representatives Wednesday said will address ongoing changes to the national health care landscape. The Iowa Institute of Public Health Research and Policy is intended to “promote development, implementation and application of cutting-edge public health research to address grand challenges in population health,” according to preliminary plans for the institute that the Iowa state Board of Regents will vote on Thursday. In addition to the health policy and research institute, the committee Wednesday approved plans for a new Master of Science Program in Health Policy in the Graduate College.
