Charlton comments on federal cuts and cancer research
Mary Charlton, director of the Iowa Cancer Registry, says the registry has long been under pressure to cut costs from the NIH, where it gets most of its funding. Hamann comments on use of ‘road diets’
'Road diets,' the practice of removing street lanes to calm traffic, is a tool used by many cities. A University of Iowa study co-authored by Cara Hamann, associate professor of epidemiology, found no noticeable difference in response times of emergency vehicles where road diets are in place.
