‘Equity in Maternal Health’ virtual series

Published on April 13, 2021

According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, Black, American Indian, and Alaska Native (AI/AN) women are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women – and this disparity increases with age. In addition, the pregnancy-related mortality rate (PRMR) for black women with at least a college degree is 5.2 times that of their white counterparts.
