Heartland Center announces pilot project funding

The Heartland Center for Occupational Health and Safety, supported by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), announces the availability of funds to support pilot projects pertaining to occupational health or safety issues.

These pilot project funds with be awarded on a competitive basis. Two types of awards will be funded:

  • A project that can include student funding with maximum award of $15,000, and
  • A project that does not include student funding with a maximum award of $5,000.

Awards cover a one-year period (7/1/15 – 6/30/16). Awards are contingent on the continuation of federal funding of the Center for the 2016-17 fiscal year. Carry-over of funds to the next fiscal year is not allowed. This pilot program mechanism especially encourages doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows, and occupational medicine residents interested in research related to the field of occupational health and safety to apply. The application deadline is February 6, 2015.
