Dr. Leandris Liburd has been a prominent figure in advancing health equity and addressing disparities in public health.

Dr. Liburd’s expertise lies in promoting equitable access to health care resources and improving health outcomes for communities that have been historically marginalized. She has written extensively on minority health, social determinants of health, and health equity, and has contributed significantly to the practice of public health.

In this lecture, she will reflect on the evolution of health equity, including key influencers over the decades who have shaped health equity as praxis and the importance of addressing social determinants of health. She will also discuss how we can continue to advance public health such that all people have the opportunity to attain their best health possible.
