Students honored with awards at SAVIR conference

Nine students from the University of Iowa College of Public Health attended the 2023 conference of the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR) April 17-19 in Denver, Colorado.

Two students won awards at this event. Hannah Rochford (PhD, 2023) of the Department of Health Management and Policy received the Student SAVIR Outstanding Service Award for her work as co-chair of SAVIR’s Student and Early Career Professionals Committee. Amanda Sursely (PhD student) of the Department of Epidemiology won the Student and Early Career Professionals Science Award for her presentation “Advancing Health Equity in Suicide Research Through Innovative Measures of Structural Inequities.”
