Webinar: Conversations on health equity in research and practice

The University of Iowa College of Public Health Prevention Research Center for Rural Health (PRC-RH) and the Midwestern Public Health Training Center, invite you to be a part of the latest installment in the Conversations on Health Equity Research and Practice Webinar Series. This series is for practitioners, researchers, and students who are interested in advancing their research and practice for health equity and social justice. Conversations begin with a brief description of a specific project, and then the speaker and audience engage in conversation about the topic of the presentation.

The next conversation will be March 25, 2024, with Dr. Lena Thompson, a University of Iowa Department of Community and Behavioral Health alum, who will present on “Exploring Successful Aging Among Alaska Native Elders Through a Qualitative Community-Based Participatory Research Approach.” In her presentation, Dr. Thompson will share forward steps and missteps made with the Alaska Area IRB and Alaska Native communities and discuss decolonizing methodology, such as the use of “talk story.”
