The College of Public Health is committed to supporting international students in public health and will continue to offer modified programs and initiatives moving forward. Mission and Vision

The mission of the Public Health International Student Advisory Board (PHISAB) is to foster a healthy learning environment by acting as a primary liaison between international students and the College of Public Health community while promoting equity and diversity and providing support through every stage of their transition to Iowa City and the U.S. The vision of PHISAB is to serve as a body that will optimize and positively impact the international student experience in the College of Public Health and the University of Iowa.

International Student-led Lecture Series

PHISAB hosts 3 to 4 student-presented lectures each semester that allow international students and others to share stories, research, and other topics from their home countries. Past events have focused on the structure of healthcare systems outside the U.S. as well as cultural and community-based health topics.

International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS), located within the UI Division of International Programs, exists to serve all international students on campus.
