Dr. Jenna Gibbs is a doctoral-level industrial hygienist and the Manager of the Injury Prevention and Community Outreach program at Stead Family Children’s Hospital, where she oversees the Safety Store, and programs focused on bike safety, child passenger safety, ATV/UTV safety, firearm safety, and safe sleep.
Dr. Gibbs has a proven background in leading national and international outreach initiatives, securing grant funding, and developing impactful safety education programs. Prior to her current role, she served as the Director of Operations for the Ag Health and Safety Alliance™, an international nonprofit organization. She has also worked for the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health and the NIOSH Respiratory Health Division.
Dr. Gibbs’s extensive experience includes hands-on work in the field. In 2016, she worked in Africa to respond to the Ebola outbreak with the U.S. CDC, where she gained substantial training experience in personal protective equipment (PPE). In 2023, she collaborated with the Pesticides Educational Resources Collaborative to create a guide for EPA Worker Protection Standard inspectors and on several PPE-related training materials.
Dr. Gibbs holds an MPH from the University of Iowa and a doctoral degree from the University of Washington. Her academic publications have focused on a range of topics, including agricultural safety, respiratory protection, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
