Undergrad to Grad Degree Options

Students have the option to pursue the Master of Public Health (MPH) or select Master of Science (MS) degree options.

MPH Degree

Students pursuing undergraduate education at the University of Iowa, Coe College, Cornell College, Grinnell College or Luther College may consider applying to this Undergrad to Grad degree. The MPH Degree is the primary professional degree that will prepare students to work in the field as practitioners of public health.  Public health practitioners unite in a common goal of promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting the environment, and assuring optimal health services. Efforts are focused on communities and populations.

MS Degrees

Students pursuing undergraduate education at the University of Iowa may consider applying to these Undergrad to Grad degrees. Master of Science (MS) degrees are designed to prepare students for professional career opportunities in which specialized knowledge of subjects of study are useful. Placement possibilities include employment in local, state, or federal health agencies, academic departments within Schools of Public Health or Colleges of Health Sciences, or private enterprise. MS Degrees are also good options for students who wish to pursue further education in PhD programs.
