Staff Mentor Award

The College of Public Health Staff Mentor Award recognizes staff members who have provided outstanding mentorship to staff or trainees (students, including postdocs) within CPH. This award is to be given in even years, commencing in 2024.

Selection Process

  1. Who is eligible:
    1. Any staff member who has a record of mentoring CPH staff or trainees to success is eligible.
    2. All permanent (50 percent or more appointment) Professional and Scientific and Merit staff in the College of Public Health who have not received this award within the last five years are eligible. An individual may be nominated for multiple Staff Awards each year, however, individuals will only be eligible to win in one category.
  2. Who may make nominations: Faculty, staff, and students. Self-nominations are not permitted. Awards Committee members who submit nominations will be excused from deliberations.
  3. All materials should be emailed to Kathy Welsh.
  4. Awards Committee selects the recipient.

Award

Non-organized P&S and MSC/E award winners will receive a certificate and $1,000 in the form of cash for personal use. AFSCME and SEIU covered staff will receive a certificate and $1,000 funding to support their professional development, educational enrichment and/or work-related equipment. Awards will be presented at the spring recognition ceremony.

Nomination Materials

  1. Nomination form including a 150- to 200-word statement from the nominator, describing the nominee’s qualifications.
  2. Staff nominated for the award will be contacted via email to request their acknowledgement of the nomination.
