MS in Health Policy students at the University of Iowa have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extra—curricular activities to expand their knowledge of health policy. Students may attend conferences, guest speaking engagements, and seminars. In addition to the exposure to timely health policy related topics and ideas, students develop important networking skills that may aid in placement post-graduation.

Healthcare Executive Symposium

The University of Iowa Department of Health Management and Policy annually hosts a Healthcare Executive Symposium to bring together leaders in the healthcare field to discuss relevant issues. Past featured speakers have included Paul Keckley, PhD, Executive Director of the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions in Washington, D.C., Anna Fallierias, Program Leader of Health Care Initiatives and Policy at General Electric, and Richard Umdenstock, President and CEO, American Hospital Association.
