Maulik S. Joshi, DrPH

President and Chief Executive Officer, Meritus Health, Inc.

Maulik Joshi, DrPH is the President and CEO of Meritus Health, Inc. Previously, Dr. Joshi was the COO and Executive Vice President at the Anne Arundel Health System (AAHS). Prior to AAHS, he was at the American Hospital Association as Associate Executive Vice President and President of the Health Research and Educational Trust. Dr. Joshi has also worked at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the University of Pennsylvania Health System and The HMO Group.

Dr. Joshi has a Doctorate in Public Health and a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan. He was Editor-in-Chief for the Journal for Healthcare Quality. He also co-edited The Healthcare Quality Book: Vision, Strategy and Tools (5th edition published in 2022) and coauthored Healthcare Transformation: A Guide for the Hospital Board Member (2nd edition in process) and Leading Healthcare Transformation: A Primer for Physician Leaders (2nd edition published in 2023). Dr. Joshi has authored a combination of over fifty peer-reviewed articles, commentaries and perspectives. Dr. Joshi is adjunct faculty at the University of Michigan School of Public Health in the Department of Health Management & Policy where he teaches annually. He has served on the board of trustees for Anne Arundel Medical Center and the board quality and patient safety committee for Mercy Health System and Advocate Health System, among others. He is currently a Commissioner for the Health Services Cost Review Commission in Maryland.


Liz Fowler, PhD, JD

Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Center.

Elizabeth Fowler, PhD, JD, is the Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMS Innovation Center). Dr. Fowler previously served as Executive Vice President of programs at The Commonwealth Fund and Vice President for Global Health Policy at Johnson & Johnson. Liz was special assistant to President Obama on health care and economic policy at the National Economic Council. In 2008-2010, she was Chief Health Counsel to Senate Finance Committee Chair, Senator Max Baucus (D-MT), where she played a critical role developing the Senate version of the Affordable Care Act. She also played a key role drafting the 2003 Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act (MMA). Liz has over 25 years of experience in health policy and health services research. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where her research focused on risk adjustment, and a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Minnesota. She is admitted to the bar in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Liz is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Aspen Health Innovators Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.


Jackson Leonard

Jackson Leonard, MEd

Head Coach, Iowa Flyers Swim Club

Coach Jackson is the head coach of IFLY, and under his leadership the Flyers have won two LCM overall team championships, the 2022 AG team title, the 2023 AG & 2023,2024 Senior team titles, and the first two Iowa Open Water team championships. IFLY has risen to a new level of achievement with their highest numbers of Futures, Jr National Open Water, Winter Junior National, Summer Junior National, National, U.S. Open, and Olympic Trial qualifiers in team history.

Prior to his time in Iowa, Jackson coached with the University of Florida (2010-2015), the Ohio State University as a volunteer assistant (2016-2017), in the club realm with Gator Swim Club (2010-2015, including a NAG in the Girls 11-12 200 Free Relay) and with Gulliver Swim Club, and has led multiple high school teams to state titles (team, relay, and individual). Jackson was recognized as the Florida Swimming Age Group Coach of the Year in 2013, an ASCA national top 10 Age Group Coach of the Year in 2013, and as the Bill Harlan award winner for the University of Florida in 2014. A lifelong coach from a family of swimming coaches, the sport is integral to Jackson’s life. From teaching swim lessons to young children to coaching alongside the sport’s greatest leaders guiding Olympians to their dreams, Jackson’s passion is helping swimmers of every age, ability, and skill level!


Kelli Todd

Kelli Todd, MS, MPH (’12)

Regional Vice President, Oak Street Health

Kelli Todd is the Regional Vice President at Oak Street Health (OSH). Kelli oversees the financial and operational performance of five primary care clinics in Iowa and manages a $40M+ P&L and over 100 team members across clinics. She is accountable for exceeding clinical outcome metrics, patient growth targets, and profitability goals. She works side by side with her teams to ensure operational excellence and partners with the senior medical director to build a collaborative and effective provider culture, focused on delivering an unmatched patient experience.

Prior to joining OSH, Ms. Todd served as the Director of Government Programs for UnityPoint Accountable Care (UAC) Accountable Care Organization (ACO), which was the second largest ACO in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation Center (CMMI) models. Based in Des Moines, Iowa, she set the strategic vision for the ACO’s government programs that serves over 103,000 of Iowa’s Medicare patient population and provides day to day leadership and operational management. Ms. Todd previously served as CEO of the Iowa Chiropractic Society setting the vision for the organization with the board and leading overall business strategy. During her time with the Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI), she oversaw research efforts, authored policy briefs for Congress and supported RUPRI’s expert panel. As Iowa transitioned its Medicaid program to managed care, Kelli led the development of and oversaw Iowa’s Medicaid Managed Care Ombudsman program, and successfully updated state rules and regulations and resolved operational issues to better serve the state and Medicaid members.


Eric Mooss, MHA (’04)

President/CEO, Bryan Medical Center

Eric Mooss, FACHE, CMPE currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bryan Medical Center, part of Bryan Health. Mr. Mooss joined Bryan Health in 2015 as President of the Bryan Physician Network, a multi-specialty medical group affiliated with Bryan Health. Prior to joining Bryan Health, Eric served as Executive Director of Primary Care for Banner Medical Group’s practice operations in northern Colorado. His experience also includes leadership positions with the Centura Health Physician Group in Denver and with Alegent Creighton Clinic in Omaha.
Eric received his BS in Health Administration and Policy from Creighton University and his MHA from the University of Iowa. Eric is a board certified Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Certified Medical Practice Executive by the Medical Group Management Association.

Eric is a past president of the Nebraska Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He serves as an adjunct faculty at The University of Iowa’s Department of Health Management and Policy. Eric has served on the boards of United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County, Lincoln Children’s Zoo, Lincoln Medical Education Partnership, Dayspring Christian School, the Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Nebraska Foundation for Visually Impaired Children. His honors include the ACHE Early Career Excellence Award, presented by the ACHE Regent for Nebraska to one outstanding early careerist and the John W. Colloton Leadership Award, voted by peers as the most likely to make outstanding contributions to the healthcare industry.

A native Omahan and avid Creighton Bluejay fan, Eric’s interests include spending time with his wife, Becky, and his three children, Benjamin, Leah and Jonathan.
