- Master of Health Administration (MHA) program is highly ranked nationally and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), the primary accrediting agency for health management education. Our MHA program prepares students for careers in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
- PhD in Health Services and Policy (PhD) program is the oldest program of its type in the nation. It provides instruction in core content areas, focused applications, and mastering the scientific method to prepare graduates for health services research, education, and policy leadership positions in universities, government, and health organizations.
- Master of Public Health in Policy (MPH) program provides core training in public health competencies and offers a focus in policy. The MPH in Policy offers coursework and applied learning experiences that prepare students for careers in health policy analysis, system and organizational planning, and program evaluation.
- Center for Health Policy and Research, the research arm of the department, supports faculty and student reseach activities. The Department and Center have stong ties with other departments and colleges within The University of Iowa and with health provider associations, policy and planning groups, health delivery institutions, and other members of the health services research community.
The Department has12 full-time faculty and
28 adjunct and secondary faculty, plus 1000 alumni, many of whom are actively involved in our program, providing professional development opportunities, mentoring, and financial support. Our faculty members make significant contributions to the national healthcare services and policy research agenda. Faculty and students disseminate their research findings through extensive peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national, state, and local meetings. |
