MPH Practicum

Heart and hands icon

All MPH students are required to complete the MPH Practicum. It is a 200-hour field experience that allows students to demonstrate professional competency in a public health practice setting. During the practicum, students apply public health principles and theories learned in MPH courses and demonstrate public health competencies in their activities.

The MPH Practicum enriches students’ educational training in public health by bridging the gap between the classroom and public health practice. It is an exciting opportunity to gain “real world” experience that can also help foster relationships among the public health community.
