MHA Mission, Vision, and Values

Mission Statement

Our mission is to prepare individuals for leadership roles in healthcare management. Our curriculum provides the knowledge, skills, abilities and values to succeed in healthcare management.

An emphasis on professional development and career planning in our traditional track prepares early careerists to transition effectively into entry-level management and leadership positions, while an emphasis on application and integration prepares early and mid-careerists in our executive track for positions of increasing responsibility. Our focus on core competencies and lifelong learning assists our alumni with continuing advancement during their careers.

We deliver our program through instruction by highly qualified faculty engaged in scholarship and practice, field experiences with our alumni and other practitioners, and extensive professional networking.

Description

The MHA program meets the needs of those seeking managerial positions in healthcare or health-related organizations. It is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).

The philosophy underlying the organization of the curriculum is to provide students with the broad base of knowledge and skills that will not only allow them to compete successfully for high quality entry level positions, but will also provide the basis for lifelong success as healthcare executives.
