Jeanie Kimbel joined the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program in facilitation of the MPH Practicum Experience in 2011. She greatly enjoys working with students as they plan and complete the capstone to their MPH degree.

Jeanie earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and a graduate degree in counseling and human development from the University of Iowa. She worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor for many years, practicing in the chemical dependency and employee assistance fields. Jeanie began her work in the College of Public Health in 2004, when she served as the training coordinator for the Iowa Tobacco Research Center, which operated Iowa’s smoking cessation helpline, Quitline Iowa, and conducted training for healthcare providers. She served as project manager for the Unintended Pregnancy Pharmacy Project, Iowa Initiative. Jeanie also facilitated collaborative project and internship placements for College of Public Health students with the Institute for Public Health Practice.
