Previous Education: BSC in Sociology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh; MA in Sociology, University of Memphis, TN, USA.

Research Interest: Maternal, Reproductive, and Child Health; Gender and Development; Global Health.

Current Activities: Kaniz is currently focusing on three research projects: i) In a recent project, she focuses on whether mothers’ education has any causal impact on improving child immunization in Bangladesh. ii) In another research project, she focuses on the impact of son preference on fertility pattern/reproductive health behavior. iii)  She also works on whether women’s autonomy plays a role in reproductive and maternal healthcare-seeking behavior in developing countries. Finally, she aims to develop policy implications that enhance women’s decision-making power, establish gender equality, and improve maternal and child healthcare-related services.
