Free registration for students attending Iowa Rural Health Association conference

Sponsorship support from the College of Public Health will allow up to 20 students to register at no cost to attend the 2023 Iowa Rural Health Association annual conference. The one-day, in-person conference will take place Oct. 18. Published September 26, 2023

Watkins studying social media influence on vaping, energy drink consumption

University of Iowa student usage of electronic cigarettes, vapes, and the consumption of energy drinks has increased significantly, according to a recent survey. CPH assistant professor Shannon Lea Watkins and a team of student researchers are currently working to understand how e-cigarettes and energy drink consumption are portrayed on social media. Adeagbo contributes to research on orofacial clefts and families

A team of researchers that includes CPH assistant professor Oluwafemi Adeagbo has received a grant to extend research on the genetics of orofacial clefts in African populations. The overall aim of the supplemental project is to increase participation in genetics and genomic research and to support families as they navigate cultural challenges associated with orofacial clefting. Published August 29, 2023
